also offers a nice mix of municipal and other public golf courses. The
demand for public golf in Central Arkansas continues to grow, and new
courses are sprouting everywhere.
Rebsamen Golf Course, Little Rock
The Rebsamen Park, Hindman Park and War Memorial
Park golf courses in Little Rock offer challenging play in the middle of the
metropolitan area. Rebsamen opened its renovated 18-hole layout in fall
1999. Burns Park in North Little Rock offers two 18-hole golf courses
along the Arkansas River. Stone Links, also in North Little Rock, is a
Scottish links style course
with a new housing development growing around it. Longhills Golf Course
in Benton is emerging as one of the area's popular public layouts. At Maumelle, the Country Club of Arkansas is a beautiful 18-hole daily fee course known for its tight fairways bordered by trees, wetlands and water. The Maumelle Country Club's
18-hole course, also located in that city, has long been renowned for
its challenging 7,019-yard layout. Just off State Highway 365, northwest
of Maumelle, The Plantation Golf Club is a gorgeous course bordering
the Arkansas River. Conway’s latest Championship golf course, Nutter’s
Chapel Golf and Country Club, is a beautiful 6,407 yd, par 72 course and
is Conway’s only public golf course.
