John Daly Welcomes You
An Invitation from Arkansas's Most Famous Golfer
Welcome to my home course -- The Natural State.
You won't find a more enjoyable place to play the game of golf.
Arkansas has some things a lot of golf havens don't
have. Like the combination of large trees, plenty of water and rolling terrain that have
given The Natural State's golf courses plenty to brag about.
Desert golf and ocean golf are nice, but Arkansas golfers
don't have to settle for one kind of layout. There are windswept courses on flat,
open terrain in the Delta and Grand Prairie; mountain courses in the Ozarks and Ouachitas;
and courses that wind through tall pine forests waiting to punish a bad shot. It is this
diversity that makes Arkansas golf special.
I've had an opportunity to play courses all over
Arkansas -- first as a high school player at Dardanelle; then as a member of the
Arkansas Razorback golf team and later as a pro. I would put their scenic beauty right up
there with any I've seen as a professional player.
If you're looking for challenging golf courses
decorated with beautiful scenery -- and plenty of interesting attractions for you and
your family to enjoy off the course -- I heartily recommend Arkansas as a vacation
place. But let me warn you, if you're the competitive type who maybe likes to make a
friendly wager now and then on a game -- I'm not the only golfer from Arkansas
who hits a long ball.
Have fun!

John Daly and Golf
John Daly grew up in Dardanelle, Arkansas, and played golf
on a scholarship at the University of Arkansas. He was relatively unknown in professional
golfing ranks until 1991 when he shot his way to the top by winning the PGA Championship.
Suddenly, the golfing world had a new hero. The Daly "grip it and rip it" long
drive and aggressive style of play quickly won fans from Little Rock to Tokyo. Today, John Daly
is one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour, consistently drawing large galleries
wherever he plays. In 1995, John again established himself as one of golf's elite by
posting his second major tournament victory at the British Open, and in 2004, he won the Buick Invitational.
It’s clear – John Daly and golf in Arkansas go hand in hand.
