Deer Run Trail (H-5)

Location: 29 miles southwest of Warren, or 23 miles northeast of El Dorado on Hwy. 15

Description: Deer Run Trail is best known for the beautiful and unusual Mayhaw trees, an edible variety of hawthorn. These trees are found within the park's bottomlands. The fruit of this tree makes a fine jelly. Deer and other wildlife are regularly seen along the trail.

Low Water Trail (H-5)

Park/Rec Area: Moro Bay State Park

Length: 1/4 mile
Time: 1/2 hour
Difficulty: Easy

Location: 29 miles southwest of Warren, or 23 miles northeast of El Dorado on Hwy. 15

Description: Meandering through some of the largest trees in this area of the state, the trail offers hikers an opportunity to view plenty of wildlife and bird activity. The trail is open when the Ouachita River is not flooding (usually late-spring to late-fall).
