Arkansas Mountain Biking

In the midst of our 52 state parks, three National Forests, and many city parks are thousands of miles of supreme mountain biking trails. The state hosts terrain for riders of all skill levels, be it a single-track path in the Ouachitas, or a long winding IMBA Epic route. Only 40 trails across the nation currently hold the ‘Epic” status from the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA). We are home-base to two: the Womble Trail in the Ouachita region and the Syllamo Trails in Mountain View.

The Womble is a 37 mile point to point route in the Ouachita National Forest. In some spots, the trail follows ridge tops and bluffs above the Ouachita River and Lake Ouachita offering pristine scenic views and photo opportunities.

The 50 mile Syllamo route traverses the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, offering riders changing scenery and beautiful views of the White River, Sylamore Creek Valleys, and the Ozark Mountains.

New to the state is the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail. When completed, the system of hiking and mountain biking trails is expected to include around 40 miles of trails connecting resorts and recreation areas on the lake’s southern shore. Other standout routes across the state include the 34 mile Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail at Mount Magazine State Park and the popular Camp Robinson trails located in the North Little Rock Army National Guard Base.
