Fighting Mad (1975)

645 W Martin Luther King Blvd.
Fayetteville, AR

Fighting Mad, a movie starring Peter Fonda, Gino Franco, Lynn Lowry and Scott Glenn, and directed by Jonathan Demme, was filmed in and around Fayetteville. The plot concerns an Arkansas farmer who stages a one-man war against corrupt land developers trying to evict him and his neighbors from their farms for real estate developments.

According to the Fayetteville History Facebook page, third-graders from Washington Elementary served as extras for the scene where a school bus crashes into an autumn pumpkin display. Many of the scenes were filmed in the community of Wyman, located just east of Fayetteville.  A notable landmark in the move is Brenda’s Bigger Burgers, a popular hangout near Fayetteville High School, located at 645 West Martin Luther King Blvd.
