Man Outside (1985)

Description

This film opens with a sports car speeding through narrow roads, almost running into cars, then turning onto a lonely road in Arkansas. The vehicle runs through streams, cutting a patch through woods and bushes. The abandoned car is then shown sitting in the same location through winter, spring, summer and fall. The driver of the car is a reclusive lawyer, played by Robert Logan, (pictured ltop eft on location with Kathleen Quinlan) who becomes a hermit after finding his wife dead and his home in flames. He becomes a person of suspicion in a boy’s disappearance. Kathleen Quinlan plays a local teacher who is the only person to believe him innocent. While helping him clear his name, she becomes intrigued by his life style. She pays him a visit.

The movie was filmed on location in the Fayetteville area.

Arkansas native and one of the founding members of The Band, Levon Helm, plays the sheriff. Every member of the original group except for Robbie Robertson has a role in this film.
