Four cities make up what's commonly referred to as Northwest
Arkansas, which is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the
United States -- much because Wal-Mart is headquartered in Bentonville.
The other cities include Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville, which is
home to the University of Arkansas. Like many college towns,
Fayetteville is a leader in the cultural, arts and entertainment scene
offering a wide array of places that feature live music, as well as a
smorgasbord of restaurants, eclectic shops and opportunities for live
theatrical performances and concerts at the Walton Arts Center. Fayetteville area events also include a symphony and several theater groups. The Fayetteville nightlife scene in Northwest Arkansas is anchored by the Dickson Street Entertainment District.
