Ozark Highlands Trail/Scenic Byway
The Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway passes through a rugged section of the forested Boston Mountain range in the Ozarks where five important recreational streams begin: the White, a world-class trout stream; the Buffalo, the country's first national river; the Kings; and the Mulberry rivers; and Big Piney Creek. The byway crosses the 165-mile Ozark Highlands Trail, a popular trail for hiking in the Ozarks that travels through the Ozark National Forest to the Buffalo National River.
ROUTE: Begins north of Clarksville as Ark. 21 crosses the southern boundary of the
Ozark National Forest, crossing the Ozark Highlands Trail and continues through the forest until Ark. 21 exits the forest near the
Buffalo National River. You have the option of continuing north on Ark. 21 and when you reach U.S. 62, take it on into Eureka Springs,
one of the state’s most versatile vacation destinations. There is
enough shopping, dining and lodging opportunities to keep you occupied
for quite some time.

THINGS TO KNOW:
Shopping, lodging and dining are available to the south at Clarksville
and to the north at Jasper. Lodging is also available at Ponca
and Kingston. Camping is available at the Ozone
and Haw Creek Falls. recreational areas in the
Ozark National Forest and there are plenty of great trails for hiking in the Ozarks.
