As the Arkansas River flows through the state, it reaches its northernmost point in a sweeping bend. Now a part of Ozark Lake, this big bend was called “Aux Arc” by the French and it is from the French that the lake and the nearby city of Ozark received their names. Fishing, camping, and other recreational opportunities may be found within and around the lake’s 173 miles of shoreline.
