Celebrate the heritage of Calhoun County April 8-9 at the 20th annual Hogskin Holidays Festival in Hampton. The event has a Pork BBQ cook-off, arts and crafts, a carnival, racing and diving pigs, a children's tractor pull, horseshoes, log loading, a motorcycle show, a rodeo, entertainment by Jason D. Enjoy a guided hike in the dark around one of the trails at Logoly State Park in McNeil April 15 during Night Hike. Enjoy a meal Civil War style April 16 in Washington during Civil War Supper at Williams' Tavern Restaurant. After the meal visitors participate as refugees from Camden, Arkansas in 1864 as they visit town sites and a Confederate picket line. Reservations are required and admission is $25 for adults. The South Arkansas Symphony in El Dorado presents The Three Phantoms April 23 in El Dorado. Craig Schulman, Cris Groenendaal, and Kevin Gray have all filled the role of Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and headline the event for the night. The performance is at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium and admission is $20 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for college students and free for kids. Join park smiths at Historic Washington State Park in Washington April 23-24 for an Introduction to Forging Workshop.  Participants meet at the James Black Forge, home of the Bowie knife, for a hands-on class covering the basic operations of blacksmithing.
