October 2012

Fall in Eureka Springs combines the best of all things! Cool, crisp weather energizes everyone as they partake of the fun and varied outdoor events which are around every corner. And around every corner you'll find art! It's Flaming Fall Art Celebration in Eureka Springs galleries this month, and here are just a few of the treats in store for you:

Eureka Thyme (19 Spring Street, 363-9600) features more than 100 local artists and fine craftspeople. Favorite fall/winter items are the fun, fuzzy, warm and colorful scarves made by Lida Arthraud of Bella Vista. Her company is known as Pandache and her scarves are distinctive and fun! (They are so much fun that gallery owner Marsha Havens had to buy four of them last year.)

Here is a description from her website, www.Pandache.com: "Our handcrafted scarves and hats are made using the old-fashioned, traditional methods and artistry of our great grandmothers from the mountains of Chihuahua. We craft one scarf, one hat, at a time, combining beautiful materials with durable hand-woven yarns and unique designs."

Imagine the look of a feather boa—a touch of classic distinction and style but much more versatile—dress up, dress down, whatever suits your mood. Create your own look from our three distinct yet compatible styles—wear alone or mix and match for different looks.

Lida Gutierrez-Arthaud is the creative artisan behind Pandache’s handcrafted scarves and hats, inspired to create these collections by the brilliant colors of the changing seasons of the Ozarks."

Please join us on October 13, 2012, to meet Lida and see these amazingly beautiful creations. She will be with us from 1-4 p.m. and again during the regularly-scheduled Gallery Stroll from 6-9 p.m.
