25th Anniversary of the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial

This striking cathedral’s structure was influenced by the pointed Gothic arch found in the Middle Ages. Designed by renowned Arkansas architects E. Fay Jones and Maurice Jennings, the chapel is built around 15 main arches rising to 50 feet.  The soaring edifice, constructed of 31 tons of steel connecting 4,460 square feet of glass, opened in 1988. The Cooper Chapel, overlooking Lake Norwood, is open to visitors.

It’s also available for special ceremonies, weddings, baptisms, memorial services, concerts and cultural events.  The Cooper family chose the chapel as a way to honor Mrs. Mildred B. Cooper’s many contributions to Bella Vista and the state of Arkansas.  Visit www.coopermemorialchapel.com/ for more details.
