The town has a prime locale near the Ouachita River and Caddo River, which are popular destinations for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Attractions nearby include DeGray Lake and DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Arkansas' only resort state park, and the Iron Mountain Trail System, mountain bike trails located on the south shore of DeGray Lake just outside of Arkadelphia.
In town, Feaster Park has picnic areas, a pavilion, outdoor basketball courts, softball fields, and access to Feaster Trail, a paved and lighted trail that spans the length of the city and is popular with walkers, joggers, bikers and rollerbladers. The Arkadelphia Aquatic Park is also in town.
The DeSoto Bluff Trail is a short quarter mile trail with information markers explaining the Caddo Indian history that is significant to Arkadelphia. It ends at a cliff overlooking the Ouachita River. The flat, easy walk ends with a picnic and scenic spot to relax.
Arkadelphia is also home to two universities: Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist.
The Captain Henderson House Bed & Breakfast in town is owned and operated by Henderson State University. It was formerly the residence of Charles Henderson, the former owner and namesake of Henderson State University.
