21st Annual Camden Daffodil Festival!

The above video is from a 2012 visit by television host and gardening expert P. Allen Smith to the Camden Daffodil Festival. If you might want to make a trek there to check out the blooms, this year’s festival is March 7-8 in Camden. The tagline of the event this year is ‘Bring in the Spring,’ and festival leaders have unleashed a new website this year loaded with details on the lineup. Highlights include garden tours, historic home tours, a Championship Steak Cook-off, a cemetery walk ( at Oakland Cemetery where this years reenactors will focus on the Civil War in Camden) a Civil War reenactment, an art show, an antique car show and more.

For the garden tours, visitors can walk among and see daffodils in gardens including the Daniel’s Japanese and Daffodil Gardens ( this is the original home of the festival and is eight acres), Grace Hill, and the Beale Daffodil Farm.

The historic home tour includes tours of The Ramsey-McClellan House, The Graham-Gaughan-Betts House, the Ouachita County Historical Society Office, the McCollum-Chidester House Museum, and The Powell-Dietrich House.
