Annual Wings Over the Prairie Festival Lands in Stuttgart
Every November, thousands of hunters and families from across the region make the pilgrimage to Stuttgart, Arkansas (the rice and duck capital of the world) for the largest duck hunting and outdoor expo in the Mid-South. The Annual Wings Over the Prairie Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Taking place the week of Thanksgiving, this seven-day festival offers something fun for everyone in the family.
The festival kicks off with the Queen Mallard and Junior Queen Mallard Pageants, open to contestants living in Arkansas, Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie and Jefferson Counties. The Wings Over the Prairie Festival Open House opens up Stuttgart’s charming downtown shopping district to visitors.
On the Main Street Stage, the Youth Duck Calling Contest tests the skill of young callers. After that, the carnival and midway opens to attendees, offering rides, games and vendors.
The festivities also include the annual 2 Stand Sporting Clay Competition and several duck calling contests (including a children’s duck calling class), an arts and crafts fair, vendor expo and sporting goods collectible show.
The final day of Wings Over the Prairie begins with the Great Duck Race 5K/10K and only gets better, with a full morning and afternoon of duck calling contests, a baggo tournament and a duck gumbo cookoff. The day culminates in the annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest.
With such a full slate of fun, this is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family around Thanksgiving. Join us in Stuttgart for this incredible celebration of all things duck! Learn more about the annual Wings Over the Prairie Festival here.
