Arkansas Trails Day Celebration in Central Arkansas
This Saturday ( May 31) an Arkansas Trails Day celebration is on the agenda for Little Rock and North Little Rock. The central meeting location is Burns Park with various trail events taking place throughout the morning and early afternoon. Trail activities include a lot of options that highlight hiking, biking ( both off road and on), paddling, horseback riding, ATV riding, and more.
The goal is to give people a taste of the wide variety of trail options available in Arkansas and the event is part of National Trails Day, which takes place across the U.S. and is the largest celebration of trails in the nation. Examples of events on the agenda include an 8-mile hike in Burns Park, paddling White Oak Bayou, an equestrian trail ride and mountain bike rides. A detailed list of events is on the Arkansas Trails Council website at arkansastrailscouncil.com.
Be sure to check out the list as there are some neat excursions that are being offered and led by knowledgeable members of the trails community. Of note, Arkansas Trails Day is taking place a week before National Trails Day ( June 7) due to the availability of Burns Park on that day.
