Berryville Ice Cream Social
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! It’s time for the 28th annual Berryville Ice Cream Social! It takes place June 14-15 on the Berryville square.
In addition to ice cream, you can enjoy crafts, live music, games, contests, food, 5K race, 1-mile walk, and more. A free Dogwood Canyon Tram will take visitors on a tour of the area. Admission is free.
The center of town is an old-fashioned square, where you can shop for books, antiques, thrift store treasures. Great restaurants can be found on the square and throughout town. The Carroll County Heritage Center , located on the square, was once the courthouse. It now contains three floors of fascinating artifacts from early Indian times, pioneer years, and life in the early 1900s. The original courtroom on the top floor was left intact, and is an interesting piece of local history.
Berryville is also home of the internationally-known Saunders Museum, where you may view an extensive collection of firearms, including antique and unusual pieces, as well as knives, Victorian clothing, accessories, textiles and furniture.
Don’t miss a trip to Cosmic Caverns, where you can view stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, soda straws, helictites, cave bacon, draperies, and many other speleothems. Silent Splendor room houses one of the longest soda straw formations in the Ozarks. The cavern also has two bottomless lakes to see on this 1.25-hour guided tour. Have fun gemstone mining or taking the wild cave tour too.
