Calling All Quilters
The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale offers two quilt-related events this month.
The 36th annual Ozark Quilt Fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. Quilters and quilt lovers display new and antique quilts for show and sale during this event. Viewer’s Choice awards will be given for first, second, and third place winners in both new and antique quilt categories.
If you’re interested in displaying one of your own quilts, you still have time to enter. The entry deadline is Sept. 11. Entry forms are available at the museum website, shilohmuseum.org, or by calling 750-8165.
The fair is free to the viewing public. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., live music will be provided by Working Class Grass.
Quilt historian Alice McElwain will present a program on Depression-era quilts at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Shiloh Museum. The public is invited to bring quilts to share.
The Shiloh Museum is located 118 W. Johnson Ave. in downtown Springdale.
