Enjoy the fall’s crisp cool air on a canoeing journey through Pinnacle Mountain’s lowlands with a park interpreter as your guide during a Fall Canoe Float at Pinnacle Mountain State Park in Little Rock. The event is offered on October 6 and again on October 13. On both days, the time frame for the float is 9-2 and the meeting place is the Little Maumelle Boat Launch.

Located just west of Little Rock, Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a natural environment of 2,356 acres that was set aside in 1977 as the state’s first state park adjoining a major metropolitan area. The park has a wide range of natural habitat, from high upland peaks to bottomlands along the Big Maumelle River and Little Maumelle River.

Pinnacle Mountain, which rises more than a thousand feet above the Arkansas River Valley, has long been a central Arkansas landmark. The park is perfect for many outdoor adventures like canoeing and kayaking. Advance registration and payment for the Fall Canoe Float is required and the cost of the float is $35.
