Famous Arkansan: Ernie Deane

A 1934 graduate of the University of Arkansas, Ernie Deane (1911-1991) was born in Lewisville (Lafayette County) and is considered by many to be the father of journalism in the state.

He served as the information officer for General George S. Patton during World War II. Deane was also the head of public relations with the Office of Chief Counsel for War Crimes at Nuremberg, Germany.
