Looking for an adventure to do over Father’s Day weekend? Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area in Wickes is hosting a Weekend Adventure Tour June 17-18. The venture begins Saturday at noon at Cossatot River State Park Natural Area at the Visitor Center.

Participants are being asked to pack three bags: one day pack with personal equipment for a 2 mile hiking excursion to Ed Banks, one waterproof bag for a kayaking venture on the river and another to pack in camping and sleeping gear.

State park guides will transport the camping gear to the campsite. The park will also provide dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

As to details of the state park, it extends for 12 miles along the wild and scenic Cossatot River and offers some of the state’s most challenging whitewater.
