Fly fishing workshop at Garvan Woodland Gardens

A Fly Fishing 101 Workshop is set to take place at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs on October 8. The class is being taught by guides from Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters. While here, participants will be taught skills such as fly selection and will learn and practice casting in surrounding Lake Hamilton.

The workshop, which lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., takes place at various spots around the gardens included at the Magnolia Room, Pratt Welcome Center and Garvan Boat Dock. Rod and bait are provided, but you can bring your own if you might have them. Reservations are required and the cost is $15 for garden members and $20 for those without a membership.

Garvan Woodland Gardens, which is at 540 Arkridge Road, is located on the shores of Lake Hamilton and is the only botanical garden in the nation that occupies all of a peninsula in a major water body.
