If you’re interested in getting into fly fishing, here’s a great way to do it if you’re in North Central Arkansas. Greg Seaton of The Little Red Fly Fishing Guide Service is offering free fly fishing classes in February.
Classes will run four consecutive weeks beginning Thursday, Feb. 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs. The class is open to all beginning and novice fly-fishing enthusiasts (older youths and adults). Younger youths are welcome if accompanied by an adult. No fishing tackle is required, but if anyone has a question about their personal rod, reels or flies, bring them to the class and Seaton will answer any questions. The class will be held at church’s Family Life Center.
To reserve a spot, call Seaton at 501-690-9166. If you cannot attend all the classes, register and attend the classes you can. There is no cost for the classes.
Seaton began fishing the Little Red River over 25 years ago. He loved it so much he eventually retired from the restaurant business and began a new career as a fly fishing guide. He finds fly fishing to be rewarding and relaxing and takes pleasure in teaching all ages the joy of the sport. His clients range in age from five to eighty-five year.
