Got Grit? Then Get Ready to Ride June 21

05/16/2014

Registration is now open for the 3rd annual True Grit Ride 100 and the first True Grit Mountain Bike Ride, both set for Saturday, June 21 in Fort Smith.

The True Grit 100 begins at 7 a.m. at Ben Geren Park. It includes 10, 35, 50, 75 and 100 mile routes. You can look at the True Grit Ride Facebook page for maps. Aid stations are roughly 10 miles apart.

New this year is the Mountain Bike Ride also beginning at 7 a.m. at Ben Geren Park, then heading to Springhill Park before returning to the finish line at Ben Geren. This ride includes 18, 40 and 50-mile courses with aid stations along the way.

Course maps are posted on the website or Facebook page. Registration for either ride is $40. At the finish line, riders and sponsors can enjoy great barbeque and sweet tea. Vegetarian options will also be available this year.

The rides are hosted by Community Services Clearinghouse Guild. Last year the event raised more than $50,000 for the Clearinghouse.
