Historic Washington State Park Hosts Interesting Workshops This Weekend

This weekend, Historic
Washington State Park in Washington is offering an interesting mix of
workshops. From 10-5 on Saturday (Oct. 16) there will be a Harness and Driving
Workshop
. The course covers the basics of safe harnessing and driving mule
teams. This  opportunity introduces participants to the basics of wagon and carriage
transportation. Registration is required and class materials are provided.  As to requirements, admission is $50,
the minimum age is 16 (accompanied by an adult) and the class is limited to
six.

 

Saturday and Sunday ( Oct. 16-17) from 9-5 p.m. park smiths at the James Black Forge,
home of the Bowie knife, teach a hands-on class covering the basics of blacksmithing during the Introduction to Forging Workshop. Materials and tools are supplied.  The cost is $50 and the minimum age to sign up is 16 (accompanied by an adult). The class is limited to six.
