Hot Springs Music Festival Spreads Appreciation of Classical Music

Now in its 16th year, the two-week festival has put the city on the nation’s classical music map.

The larger concept of the event is to make sure classical music is and remains relevant to people today by making the music easily accessible to a wide audience range.

This year’s festival celebrates conductors who are also great pianists, in honor of the renowned
conductor and pianist Franz Liszt. The programs will also include pieces by Johannes Brahms, Ludwig van Beethoven and Hermann Goetz.

The schedule follows a similar format to that of previous years with four orchestra concerts, Piano-Mania!, various chamber music concerts, a family concert and performances at the Historic Downtown Farmers Market. The festival also includes an opening-night performance by the Avalon String Quartet.
