Inaugural Southern Folk Festival in El Dorado

Mark Givens of Main Street El Dorado has sent word that El Dorado’s inaugural Southern Folk Festival is approaching. The festival is set for May 9-10 in downtown Union Square. The event is free to the public and will celebrate southern live music, food, and arts and crafts.

The weekend starts on Friday with an outdoor concert featuring the country sounds of The Cadillac Three. The Nashville band’s debut single “The South” is well known on the country charts. New Orleans trio and roots-rockers Dash Rip Rock will perform prior to this. Live music and crawfish (prepared by Johnny B’s) will begin at 5 and The Cadillac Three take the stage at 9.

On Saturday, the lineup includes the Main Street Poker Run, vendors, crawfish (prepared by Johnny B’s) a Jacked-Up Truck Show, hay-rides, horse and carriage rides, live music by American Idol alum LeBryant Crew and other local and regional acts. The day will end with a special performance of Showdown at Sunset followed by a free concert on the Showtime Stage. Saturday’s co-headliners will include rising country stars JT Hodges and Dylan Scott.
