No foolin’, Mulberry Edamame Festival is Saturday, April 1

03/28/2017

Mulberry will host its annual Edamame Festival this Saturday, April 1 in Kirskey Park.

New this year is “Edamame Joe’s BBQ Cook-off,” presented by Today’s Bank. It features local teams vying to see who has the best barbecue in the area. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three spots, along with a $200 cash prize for the People’s Choice award. The public can buy taster kits for $7 to sample each team’s barbecue as many times as they like before voting for their favorite.

Also new this year is free live music on Friday night before the full day event. Bring a lawn chair.

The festival will again include a car and tractor show, and arts and crafts. The popular helicopter rides will back as well.

The City of Mulberry hosts the event to promote edamame – its uses, health benefits, and positive impact on Arkansas. A main attraction of the event is “The Edamame Experience” booth, which provides samples, recipes, and information.

Other event activities are: beauty pageant, disc golf tournament, mechanical bull rides; kids’ bounce houses; giant slide; and Daisy BB gun trailer.

The festival has free admission and parking.
