A Ouachita Art Celebration is happening in the downtown arts district of Mena on November 7. The festival has been created to celebrate the arts and will have local artists and artisans on site demonstrating their craft in categories such as fine arts, performing arts, and culinary arts. Mena Street, the location of the festival, will be closed to cars and motor traffic during the event.
During the festival there will be artist demonstrations at locations such as Mena Art Gallery ( 607 Mena Street), special performances by the Ouachita Little Theatre, artist booths on Mena Street, a fashion show, live music, and more. Master Falconer Tommy Young of the Mena based Arkansas Native Plant and Wildlife Center is also scheduled to bring some of his hawks and will give a presentation about them and his animal rescue work.
