Round About Artist Studio Tour
The sixth annual Round About Artist Studio Tour is set for this weekend Oct. 19–21. During the event, participants embark on a self guided driving venture through the hills of the Caddo River Valley to visit the studios of local artists. This is a great opportunity for those, like me, who are fascinated by working spaces. I could spend hours looking at the tools that each artist uses to make their craft. And equal time talking with them about their creative routine.
This tour highlights a range of art by regional artists in the Arkadelphia area. This includes pottery, wood carving, photography, paintings, jewelry, and more. You might also catch a demonstration by the artist during a visit.
The event is a neat chance to explore original art created by local artists while also enjoying the fall colors of Southwest Arkansas.
Each studio will have art for sale and studios will be open to the public from 9-5 on Friday and Saturday and from 1-4 on Sunday. From what I’m told, guidebooks with directions to the various studios can be found at the Arkadelphia Arts Center at 625 Main or at the Diamond Lakes Regional Visitor’s Center at 124 Hwy 7 Caddo Valley. The tour is sponsored by the Caddo River Art Guild and is part of the Arkansas Artist Studio Tours.
