Say “I Love You” with Arkansas Fossils from Kate Baer
Still looking for the perfect Valentine gift? How about jewelry by Arkansas Artisan Kate Baer?

A perfect opportunity to pick up one of her pieces is between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Museum Store of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.
I have two pairs of earrings and one necklace from her that never fail to get compliments when I wear them. They are treasured items in my jewelry box and they will be for your special someone too. What’s so special about her designs?
The Baer family lives near Ponca and the headwaters of the Buffalo National River in an off-grid straw-bale home. Nature and the environment are important to them, which is reflected in Kate’s jewelry. Her pieces and designs contain impressions of Arkansas fossils and the elegant geometry of nature. The fossils are meant to serve as reminders of our physical impermanence and as inspiration to live a life of meaning and spirit. The fingerprint on the back of each piece is an indicator of the handmade nature of her jewelry.
Kate Baer Fossils are crafted of fine silver or 22kt gold mixed with precious and semi-precious gemstones. The fine silver is recycled as is the sterling wire, and she always uses certified conflict free diamonds. She plans to have a new style of necklace available at the Museum trunk show as well as her line of art clothes, “They Listen to Birds.”
For more information about the trunk show, call the Museum Store at 479-657-2335.
