St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at War Eagle Mill

03/09/2015

The War Eagle Mill near Hindsville reopened for the season this past weekend after its crew of leprechauns did some spring cleaning. Now those blokes are getting the mill set for its annual St. Patrick’s Day Weekend event on March 14 and 15.

Head to the mill this weekend to enjoy some toe-tappin’ live music and traditional Irish food. With a bit o’ luck, you might even see a leprechaun frolicking about and be able to take your picture with him. On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can dance a jig to The Mudlarks. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, sing along with Paddy O’Grill and Bill O’Sayle while they play traditional Celtic music.

Later in the month will be the War Eagle Creek Clean-Up. Take part in that from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 21. This beautiful creek is a popular spot for fishing, canoeing, photography, and cooling off on a hot summer day. Of course, it also turns the Mill wheel to grind the grain. Clean-up supplies are provided. There will be door prizes too.

The Mill’s Bean Palace Restaurant has some new menu items. You can also shop in the Mill store for a vast variety of souvenirs and gift items as well as your favorite stone ground organic grains.
