Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs
Turpentine Creek is one of the very few USDA-licensed facilities for large carnivores in the U.S. It rescues neglected or unwanted big cats and provides them with a safe home in a caring environment on a 450-acre ranch.
Each of these animals – lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, even bears and more – has a unique story.
The wildlife refuge constantly builds new habitats and shelters for its growing population. It’s a fun place to visit, especially with kids. Take a guided tour or a walking tour around the refuge. Dinner time is a good time to be there!
The refuge has eight unique lodging choices, including a Zulu Safari Lodge, where you can stay to get a taste of the culture of these animals’ native homes. There’s nothing like hearing the lions carol at night!
