Main Street is home to the Batesville Area Arts Council, a non-profit organization providing access to the arts throughout the community through exhibitions, workshops and other art projects. Originally constructed as a mercantile store, the art deco style theater reopened in 1940 as one of Arkansas’s first cinemascope theaters. Today, visitors can enjoy first-run movies, concerts and other special events.
The Royal on Main, a boutique hotel located in a transformed 1897 commercial building, brings luxury accommodations to Main St. Each suite includes a mixture of vintage historic characteristics with modern amenities. Other lodging options are available downtown and each brings the opportunity for a unique stay.
