Central

Local Favorites

Located in the heart of downtown Little Rock, across the river in North Little Rock and in surrounding cities and towns are well maintained, multi-use off-road trails that are a source of pride in the Central Arkansas community, thanks to groups like the Central Arkansas Trail Alliance (CATA) and Central Arkansas Master Naturalist (CAMN). There are plenty of mountain biking (MTB) trails in the area for nearly any style of rider. For locals looking to cut out of work and escape the city scene, these trails allow access to wild, remote areas with routes that loop back around to bring you home at the end of the day in time for dinner. For the cyclist that enjoys a post-ride brew, there are many local breweries in the area that are worth a visit when you get to town. Visitors to the metro should look for Pfeiffer Loop at the base of the Big Dam Bridge on the north side of the Arkansas River Trail, which extends to Pinnacle Mountain State Park in Little Rock; two trails at Allsopp Park in Little Rock; Burns Park in North Little Rock; and the series of trails at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock — a favorite among locals. Venture to Conway for tight, twisty singletrack at Cadron Settlement Park. Take the scenic route, and travel through Perryville for a hill-climber’s dream of a ride around Lake Sylvia, also the site of the Slobberknocker Mountain Bike Race in May.
