Arkansas-Made Christmas Gift Ideas

Kerry Kraus

Nearly everyone has someone on their Christmas gift list that is difficult to buy for — whether it be a teacher, a boss, a coworker or a hairdresser or the person who delivers the morning paper.

Why not give a piece of Arkansas? An Arkansas food product. There are so many excellent ones to choose from. Petit Jean Meats, Coursey’s, Burge’s, and Ozark Mountain Smokehouses are just a few that have been around for years and offer a wide variety of tasty smoked meats. They also have gift boxes just waiting to be picked up or shipped to some lucky recipient.

You can always impress someone with candy. Arkadelphia could be called the peanut brittle capital of Arkansas with both Juanita’s Candy Kitchen and Andrews Peanut Brittle located there. It’s impossible to choose between the two so why not buy some of each?   If chocolate is more your taste (no pun intended), then check out Kopper-Kettle Candies in Van Buren. A family owned business since 1956, the Greer family has been making candy since 1925 and offers a huge selection of handmade candies.

Like snacks? Then take a look at the offerings by Otis and Betty’s, Inc. and J&M Foods.  Otis & Betty have five different crunchy snack mixes, ranging from sweet to spicy to savory. J&M is known for their cheese straws but also has cookies.
Impress someone on your list this year.
