Arts and The Park highlights Hot Springs art scene

Hot Springs is well known for its thriving and supportive arts community. Galleries in town have a range of art by local, regional and international artists and many are centrally located downtown and within minutes of parks, lakes and area attractions.

Arts and The Park, a 10-day arts celebration in town, is a popular outlet for this active art scene. The festival, which is a project of the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance, takes place April 27- May 6 and spotlights local sculptors, musicians, dancers, potters, authors and more in a spectrum of events at venues throughout the city.

Included in the lineup are studio tours where you can visit the personal studios of participating artists and see them in their creative environments. Participating studios include area attractions such as Fox Pass Pottery and Riley Art Glass Studio. The tours take place on April 28 and 29 and a rundown of all of the studios you can visit during this timespan can be found here.

Along with this, there will be arts events throughout the festival including workshops, concerts, demonstrations and more. On May 5 and 6, the festival closes out with Art Springs, a free outdoor art festival held at Hill Wheatley Plaza. The full festival schedule can be found here.

Along with this event, for over 25 years Hot Springs has also been home to Gallery Walk, a monthly series that highlights new art exhibitions and showcases local art galleries and studio spaces. During the event, which is held the first Friday of every month, galleries stay open late and artists are also often present to discuss their work.
