Central Arkansas Holiday Home Tours Coming Up Soon

If you love looking at gorgeous homes decorated beautifully for the holidays, then you’re in luck. During the next two weekends, there are three in Central Arkansas waiting for you. And, wonder of wonders, none conflict with the other so you can take in all three.

December 3
brings the Renewal Ranch Christmas Tour of Homes in Conway. Homes featured are Chef Don and Nancy Bingham, Arkansas artist Tim and Jane Morris, and the Dooley Family, well-known performers in the area. All homes are decorated on the inside and out. In addition, the 14-room Dooley Family home has 25 Christmas trees and five “themed” rooms.

The tour is from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.; tickets are available at each home for $10 adults, $5 children, and $25 for a family of five. Additional activities include cookie decorating, door prizes, music, and refreshments. Proceeds benefit Renewal Ranch.

Christmas in the Quarter: A Tour of Homes, A Touch of Music, A Taste of Christmas is from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. on December 4. This eighth annual tour is sponsored by the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church in downtown Little Rock. It provides the public a glimpse into five 19th century homes while allowing them to savor the sights, sounds and scents of the holidays. Funds collected from the event go to the missions of the church. The $20 tickets allow access to the tour homes decorated for the holidays where visitors learn about the history, and enjoy savory and sweet treats, and drinks. There will also be live holiday music, including strolling minstrels singing carols as well as piano, organ and trumpet instrumentals. You can walk from home to home or ride one of two trolleys, which will drop off and pick up participants at each home.

Tickets can be purchased online, at The Green Corner Store and Polka Dot Scents Shop in downtown Little Rock, or at QQUMC the day of the event. For more information, contact Lori Marvin.

Next Saturday, December 10, Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock offers its annual Holiday Tour of Homes. Highlights include homes owned and designed by local interior design gurus Tom Chandler and Chris Olsen. Other featured homes, located in The Heights neighborhood and West Little Rock, include ones owned by Kim and Stephen Carleson, Monica and Clay Wahlquist, Sharon Adkins and Steve Duffel, Marga and Steve Ratcliff, and Terry and Gary Barket. The Maumelle home of Susan and Dr. Ken Martin is open only for the Private Preview Party on December 9th.

Sunday hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Suggested routes for the tour are available. Tickets for the Saturday tour are $25 and $65 for the Friday evening event; they can be purchased online.  E-mail info@wildwoodpark.org or phone 501-821-7275 for additional information.
