Central Arkansas Outdoor Summer Movie Series Begin

If it’s summer in Arkansas, then it’s time for outdoor movies offered in Little Rock and Conway. These inexpensive or free events are a great family fun activity and a chance to see some really good films.

Little Rock’s Movies in the Park series has a showing every Wednesday evening at sundown in Riverfront Park  throughout the summer months. The first June presentation is “Transformers” on the 6th. The 2007 sci-fi thriller stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. Concessions selling beverages, popcorn, candy and ice cream will be available. Seating is available in the Riverfest Amphitheatre but you can bring your own blanket or lawn chair if you prefer. Admission is free.

Other shows scheduled for June are:

June 13: Steel Magnolias
June 20: Puss ‘N’ Boots
June 27: Jaws

Conway’s  Station Park, Field 5, is where the Silver Moon Cinema  presentation of “Little Big League” will be Friday, June 8. This 1997 comedy baseball flick is about a 12-year-old fan who inherits the Minnesota Twins. It stars Luke Edwards, Timothy Busfield and John Ashton. The movie, along with popcorn and drink concessions, begins around 8:15 p.m. There is a $1 minimum admission donation which benefits the Black Bird Academy of Arts. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and come enjoy. Conway Station Park is located at 1501 Robins Street.
