Eric Jackson named Tourism Person of the Year

Zoie Clift
Oaklawn’s General Manager Eric
Jackson was named Tourism Person of the Year last night at the Henry Awards in
Eureka Springs during the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The awards
honor individuals and organizations that have made important contributions to
the state’s tourism industry in the preceding year. Hot Springs got another nod
for the Community Tourism Development Award for the First Ever Annual World’s
Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which takes place on March 17. The awards
are named for Henri de Tonti, who founded the Arkansas Post in 1686 and is often
hailed as the first “Arkansas Traveler.” The below photo of Mr. Jackson was shot by Greg Benenati.
