Family Fitness Fun in Little Rock

Looking for ways to get your family more physically active? You can do so and have fun at the same time by taking part in the 11th annual Dino Dash and Discovery Fest, Saturday May 22, in downtown Little Rock. Sponsored by the Museum of Discovery, the event has a 5K walk/run for ages five and older and a 1K Fun Run for everyone. In addition to the runs, Discovery Fest is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and offers opportunities to make crafts, play games, visit with live animals from the museum’s collection, and enjoy entertainment provided by The Kinders and Radio Disney. Jeff Matthews from B98 radio is the emcee.

The early registration fee of $25 is available until May 17 so you need to hurry and take advantage of it. After that and up to the day of the race, registration is $30. Each registrant receives a 2010 Dino Dash t-shirt, goody bag, and free admission to the museum on race day.
Starting time for the 5K is 8 a.m. and the1K is 9:15 a.m. with both races beginning and ending at 500 President Clinton Avenue in the River Market District. Top finishers in the 5K age groups receive prizes; all 1K participants ages 1-10 get a medal and dinosaur prize. Registration is available online at or Call 501-396-7050 to get more information.
