“Get Out of the House” blogs feature fun events to encourage you to get out and experience the Arkansas Delta and North Central Ozarks!
Here’s a great opportunity to explore the Arkansas Delta this weekend. It’s the Tour duh Sunken Land Harvest Bike Ride.
The weather looks to be perfect for the 3rd annual Tour duh Sunken Lands Harvest Bike Ride on Nov. 5. The course starts and ends at the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum in Tyronza. Along the way, riders will stop in Dyess, boyhood home of the legendary Johnny Cash; the house in Lepanto featured in John Grisham’s “A Painted House;” and the Marked Tree Delta Area Museum in Marked Tree. The course winds along the Arkansas Delta and includes sites such as old churches, historic cemeteries, farmsteads and farmland. The entry fee is $25.
The trip also offers bikers the chance to see some of the fall color of the Arkansas Delta. The ride is a 52-mile loop (or riders may choose the 45-mile “shortcut”) through some of the most scenic agricultural lands of the region.
