Help an Arkansas Chef Become

Kerry Kraus

Every year, Food and Wine magazine name America’s 10 most brilliant up-and-coming chefs. Now the magazine wants to know who you think is the most talented new chef in the country. One of the 10 nominated chefs from 10 regions is Arkansas’s own Lee Richardson of Ashley’s at the Capital in Little Rock

Voting began February 15 and ends March 1 so make your voice heard. There is one vote per computer per region. For some strange region, Richardson is included in the Midwest region, where he’s up against some stiff competition from highly populated cities like Minneapolis, Kansas City and St. Louis.

Chefs with the highest eligible votes per region become one of the 10 finalists. The People’s Best New Chef title will be determined based on highest number of eligible votes received during the voting period. All votes subject to verification.

Here’s your opportunity to help one of Arkansas’s most innovative chefs receive a much deserved honor and help promote the state’s reputation for having healthy and creative cuisine. If you’ve never dined at Ashley’s, you owe it to yourself to do so. Richardson is one of the leading proponents of using fresh, locally grown produce in his menu. Ashley’s is located in Little Rock’s award-winning historic Capital Hotel
