The inaugural Little Rock Dirty Fondo debuts this spring on May 6. The biking event will be held the day after the popular Little Rock Gran Fondo and will begin and end at the historic Marlsgate Plantation. “There will be 25 and 50 mile distances,” said event founder Ron King. “This is a ride not a race, although there are those who will be trying to set personal records. The ride will be held on farm roads in the Scott area which are mostly gravel and flat.”
The event will begin with coffee and pastries at 6 in the morning at Marlsgate with the ride starting at 7. “After completing their chosen course distances, riders will return for a traditional Southern box lunch on the grounds of Marlesgate with champagne and other beverages,” said King. There is also set to be craft beer, live music by singer Billy Jeter and more. Marlsgate is located at 2695 Bear Skin Lake Road in Scott. The event is being sponsored by Arvest and all proceeds go to Recycle Bikes for Kids. If interested, you can sign up here.
