“Last-Minute Idea” blogs are designed for those who don’t yet have plans for the weekend and are looking for something fun to do!

Here’s a GREAT idea for a fun, outdoor activities for the kids this weekend!

Saturday, Oct. 30, the Bill and Alice Nix Petting Zoo, located on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The zoo, which was created to allow interaction between youngsters and a large variety of animals, is only open twice a year – once in the spring and once in the winter. It’s free and open to the public.

The ASU College of Agriculture and Technology, which sponsors the event, will offer horseback riding in the farm pastures. The petting zoo is located at 203 Longhorn Dr. on the Arkansas State University campus. To learn more, contact Sherry Ellis at 870-972-2087.
