Museum Monday: Delta Cultural Center’s Arkansas Delta Family Gospel Festival

I’ve loved museums my entire life…and after working in one for 10 years, that love only grew stronger. On Mondays, I will share some of my favorite museums located within the 26 counties of eastern Arkansas.

If you’re a fan of gospel music, Helena-West Helena is the place to be as the Delta Cultural Center hosts the 10th annual Arkansas Delta Family Gospel Festival on May 29!

The festival always features some of the best gospel music from local, regional and national groups and performers. This year’s line-up includes the Community Choir of Helena, Billy Rivers & the Angelic Voices of Faith, the Myles Family, the Selvy Singers, Otis Clay, NewSong and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.

The event is always a great opportunity to hear some up-and-coming local talent. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs!

The festival kicks off at noon at the Cherry Street Pavilion. The event is free. For more information, log on to or phone 800-358-0972.
