National Acrobats of China Performing in Texarkana

The Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council ( TRAHC) starts their 2011-2012 Perot Theatre Series next Tuesday (Oct. 11) at the Perot Theatre in Texarkana with National Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China.

Celebrating over 50 years of  high-flying breathtaking acts, the internationally known National Acrobats ( composed of 35 dancers and jugglers)  appear live at the Perot Theatre on their first ever North American tour.

Established by the government of the Republic of China in 1950, the group’s formation marked the beginning of Cirque performances worldwide. This large-scale troupe has performed in over 40 countries and maintains an award-winning international institution focusing on more than just acrobatics. The school instructs more than 150 resident performers and over 500 acrobatic students in the areas of acrobatics, dancing, acting, Kung Fu, and fine art.
