North Little Rock Honors Veterans on Thursday

Kerry Kraus

This Veterans Day is going to be more special than usual in North Little Rock. The city’s new Veterans Memorial is being unveiled Thursday. Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. The plaza of the William F. Laman Library at 2901 Orange Street is where the ceremony takes place. The memorial is located at the southeast corner of the plaza at the corner of Orange Street and Pershing Boulevard. The design has a battlefield cross displayed atop a five-foot-tall pedestal, surrounded by nine granite pillars.

The inscription “All Gave Some/Some Gave All” honors all North Little Rock Veterans with special recognition given to armed service personnel from the city who were “killed in action” in service to our country. Names of those individuals are etched in granite on the memorial with new additions made annually.
