We invite you to have “More Fun Per Gallon” in Arkansas this year. Each day we will be blogging on different Arkansas destinations which can be reached on one tank of gas or less. This is basically every corner of The Natural State. We hope these suggestions help you in planning a trip to remember.
Today’s Trip: 10th annual Taste of the Town in West Memphis
If you aren’t hungry as you start reading this blog, you will be. I promise!
I’ve had this job almost six years, and every year I receive an invitation to Main Street West Memphis’ annual fundraiser, Taste of the Town. I’ve never been able to attend…but that changes Tuesday!
If you’re anywhere near West Memphis, you should check this out!! It’s great food for a great cause! Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The event is being held at Southland Park Gaming and Racing on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Taste of the Town is a food and beverage tasting event that features an array of local and regional restaurants, caterers and bakeries. It’s being held at Southland’s newly remodeled event room, The Starting Gate, which is located upstairs.
This year’s food is being provided by Custom Catering; Lil’ Sweet Shoppe; Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant; Pancho’s; Riverside International Speedway (I hear they have amazing corn dogs and fried cheesecake!); Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant; Lenny’s Subway Shop; The Vine, Inc.; Southland Park Gaming and Racing; The Parsonage Bakery & Deli; Zaxby’s; and Fusion Asian Buffet.
There will be a variety of wines and premium beers available. The Incredible Infinity Band will provide entertainment. Awards will be given to Best Appetizer, Best Salad, Best Entrée, Best Dessert and Best Booth…and attendees get to vote for their favorites.
So make plans to head to West Memphis on Tuesday evening. For more information on purchasing tickets, contact Main Street West Memphis at 870-735-8814. Hope to see you there!
Everyone have a safe and great weekend!
