Pocahontas Hosts Annual Rock

It’s time to grab your dancing shoes! Pocahontas hosts the 5th annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Highway 67 Music Festival starting tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 6!

Thursday’s events kick-off with the “Ain’t Nothing But a Hound Dog” dog costume contest at 6 p.m. You can “Stoll the Square” from 6-9 p.m., giving visitors a chance to peruse the businesses along the historic square. The talented dancers from Marilyn’s Cloggers take the stage at 7 p.m. At 7:30, join in the fun at the Sock Hop, taking place along the historic square. As darkness takes over, head to the Imperial Dinner Theatre to take the “Haunted Pocahontas Tour” at 9 p.m.

On Friday evening, Sept. 7, show your school spirit at the Pocahontas High School pep rally, starting on the courthouse square at 5 p.m. Head to the Randolph County Music Theatre for the Rock ‘N’ Roll show at 7 p.m. Then head to the football field to cheer on the players as Pocahontas faces Paragould on the gridiron.

Saturday, Sept. 8, is a full day of music, entertainment and fun! Food and craft vendors will be located along the historic square beginning at 10 a.m. Live music is planned throughout the day and evening, including performances on the Court Square Stage by Black River Band, Paige Elizabeth, U Turn 180 Band, Emily Copeland with Zack DeClerk and John Swan. Music from the Main Stage begins at 6 p.m. with a performance by Chillyrose Band, followed by Empty Pockets and this year’s headliners, Amy Clawson & Coltrane
